Tables salvaged from “Clarkes and Courts” stationers and printers in Galveston Texas. It was once once the largest printing and lithography companies in the region. The firm's beginnings trace back to 1857, but the company specifically known as Clarke and Courts began in 1879 when George M. Courts purchased M. Strickland's interest. The business closed in 1989. The old building designed by Nicholas J. Clayton now housed the Strand Lofts.

Pièce de Résistance

This pair of six-foot tall “H-Town” Temple Dogs are carved of teak wood. They flanked the desk in Judge Roy Hofheinz's private office inside the Astrodome from the time the Dome opened in 1965 until his death in 1982. The Houston Astrodome was once considered a palace for football and baseball fans. Less well known was the palace that the Dome's visionary Roy Hofheinz built for himself inside the Eighth Wonder of the World.

“Imported from Bali, the dogs are between 200 and 250 years old and are ornamented with mirror-like colored glass that predates actual mirrors. “ – Houston Business Journal May 28, 2000
“The Dogs are carved in style of Burma or Northern Thailand iconography”- Asian Art Museum, San Francisco, CA
